On December 20, 2019, the President signed H.R. 1865 into law. This provided a one year extension for WOTC and retroactive extensions for the Empowerment Zone and Indian Employment tax credits through 12/31/20. SimTax is already working on the next extension in Washington D.C. Between the TANF expiration in May, the budget bill this Fall and the lame duck session after the election, there are a few logical legislative vehicles in 2020 when tax provisions might be added. WOTC continues to be one of the most popular tax provisions with bi-partisan support in both chambers of Congress and we are very optimistic it will continue past 12/31/20!
